What is a robot? A beginners guide

Prepare to be captivated by the extraordinary world of robotics! This dynamic field is revolutionizing industries, transforming our daily lives, and pushing the boundaries of what's possible. As a beginner, you're about to embark on an exhilarating journey into the realm of automated machines.

What is a robot? A beginners guide

A robot is an automatically operated machine that is capable of performing complex actions and tasks, often independently or with minimal human intervention. When we think about robots, we often think about Humanoid Robots, or in other words, robots that look and act like humans. One of the most famous robots is Robot Sophia, who has even starred at the Jimmy Fallon Show!

However, there are many more types of robots than this. There are robotic vacuum cleaners, surgical divices and warehouse workers. These are also robots! And probably more common kinds of robots 😄

7 Amazing examples of different kinds of robots 🤖

What are robots used for? Well, as you can see, there is so much more than humanoid robots. You'll suddenly notice that robots in fact already are all around us!

Industrial Robots

Industrial robots are amazing machines that work in factories and manufacturing plants. They can move and work all by themselves, without needing a person to control them. They help factories make things quickly and with fewer mistakes.

Surgical Robots
